Consent for minors
Consent by a parent, guardian or nominated next of kin is required for minors.
Family or friends may not accompany a patient to the operating areas unless the patient is a minor, requires an interpreter or has an intellectual disability. In these circumstances, a nominated person may accompany the patient, taking direction from the attending staff in the area.
